SKIN RESURFACING
Fractional CO2 Laser is clinically proven effective for skin resurfacing. It is suitable for static wrinkles, dull skin, open pores, fine lines, stretch marks, skin rejuvenation or any type of scars caused by acne, trauma, surgery or burn wound.
ACNE SCARRING
The common type of acne is called acne vulgaris. It is a condition that mainly affects adolescents but may persist or even become more severe in adulthood. Most, but not all, acne patients have oily skin. Commonly known as "pimples".
The acne can present as non inflamed lesions known as open comedones (blackheads) closed comedones (whitehead) or larger deeper cysts. When these acne gets infected or inflamed by bacteria they present as small red bumps, squeezable pustules or large red bumps.
Lastly they result in red or dark patches ( especially dark races) and finally scars. Scars are permanent. Acne can also occur on the chest or back in certain individuals and in susceptible individuals end up as keloids.
It is important to manage the underlying factors including hormonal ones and get your acne properly managed and treated by a doctor to prevent the long term scarring .
STRETCHMAKRS
Stretchmarks occur when the skin undergoes excessive stretching resulting in tears and scarring in the mid section of the skin called the dermis. Commonly it appears during pregnancy on the abdomen as reddish lines called striae gravidarum. With time, the lines gets depressed and appears whitish. These lines do seem to be common in women who have their babies at an earlier age. Persons who are obese or patients who suffer from hormonal disorders resulting in obesity (eg. Cushing's Syndrome) are also prone to stretchmarks on the abdomen but also on their arms and thighs. Other factors apart from hormones will be genetics, diet and exercise. Fractional Laser resurfacing has been found to improve the condition.
