EXCESSIVE SWEATING
This occurs in some individuals and although does not usually indicate any underlying disease, can be a source of embarrassment.
TRETAMENT MODALITIES
An examination by a physician is first necessary to exclude underlying conditions like hyperthyroidism. Permanent solutions requires delicate surgery to cut certain nerves which control the excessive sweating and is available in some neurosurgical centres.
Other solutions includes iontophoresis and topical antiperspirants containing aluminium or zinc compounds.
Botulinum A Toxin injected into the offending areas is an excellent and safe way to control the excessive sweating.
